Kamikawa (Tokachi) District comprises Shintoku and Shimizu on the western edge of the Tokachi plain, where the Hidaka mountains meet expansive dairy and crop farmland. The area is known for cheese, soba and beef, and the Karikachi Pass connects it to the Furano side. Obihiro, the Tokachi region's hub city, is within easy reach.
